What should I pack for a December trip to Sydney and the beaches

I know it's summer but should I still bring a light jacket for the evenings or is it shorts and t-shirts all the way

It's full-on summer, so mostly light clothes, high-SPF sunscreen, and a good hat, you might want a very light cardigan just for air-conditioned restaurants.
