Should I exchange a lot of cash into Fijian Dollars or just use my credit card?

I don't want to carry too much FJD but will my card be accepted everywhere on the smaller islands

You will need some Fijian Dollars cash for smaller markets, local buses, or village visits, but all the main resorts and big shops take card just fine.
