    Both are serious, but road trains demand respect when overtaking and always fill up fuel whenever you see a petrol station, never assume the next one will be open or close enough.

    The Walled City is extremely safe at night. It's heavily policed, well-lit, and always busy with tourists and street vendors. You can walk around there without worry until the early hours.

    I'd choose Palermo. The atmosphere is just more dynamic and you’re closer to where the younger locals hang out after dark.

    I disagree that the bus is terrible, but it's not great. You can usually snag one that's slightly older and less comfortable. The shared taxi offers more consistent quality and efficiency for the trip.
